MY MISSION

My mission is to help heal and balance your body, naturally. I am an experienced Complementary Therapist and a firm believer in a wholesome holistic approach to health & healing. The human body is made up of the mind, body, and spirit. All three must be in working order, so that a free flow of energy is achieved. Through my practice, I work passionately to release and balance this energy and promote total health & well-being.

Do you treat patients with severe health problems?

There are many health conditions that can be treated with Complementary & Holistic therapies such as sciatica, arthritis, fibromyalgia etc. Most conditions are safe to treat however if there is a condition that the therapist is unsure about she may need to ask your GP for their advice before treating. There are some conditions where the therapist will need to contact your GP for advice - this would be discussed and arranged with your permission at consultation stage. There are some conditions which can not be treated such as infectious skin disorders. Feel free to ask the therapist before booking if your condition is safe to treat.

What will my first session be like?

Your first treatment session will last a bit longer than a usual treatment as a full consultation is carried out with you to determine if it is safe to do the treatment and so the therapist can get to know you a little and find out - your needs, requirements and objectives to discover how to best deliver the treatment for you, so you can then both agree on an appropriate treatment plan. Your therapist will discuss the treatment you have booked with you & will answer any questions you may have. Hopefully the therapist will be able to help you relax and just be yourself.

Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?

Complementary Therapies have become popular in hospitals and hospices where patients have terminal illness such as cancer. Karlyn doesn't have any specialist qualifications in treating terminally ill clients however if somebody with a terminal illness such as cancer wanted to try one of her treatments then she would be happy to do a treatment with approval from the GP/Specialist/Consultant. In the case where a patient is receiving treatment such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy it would not be safe to do a holistic treatment until the medical treatment was finished first and a few months have passed into the recovery. If you have had minor surgery its best to wait 6 months until receiving a treatment & 12 months for major surgery. Its a good idea to get advice from your consultant & get in contact with the therapist first if you are considering making a booking to inform her of your illness then you can both make a good decision as to whether holistic treatment may help.

Can I book a treatment whilst I am receiving other Therapies.

Although Karlyn is happy to treat all people it is not advisable to have a treatment or set of treatments with her whilst you are receiving other therapies or treatment from other health care professionals. The reasons being that firstly two different treatments happening within the same time frame may interfere with one another or not work in harmony together and if you are gaining positive results or a breakthrough with a problem you may be experiencing - you may not know which therapy is working or bringing results. Although it is possible that treatments working side by side could potentially work in harmony to help bring about positive results. It is your personal choice if you want to receive treatments from different therapists within the same time frame so yes I will treat if it is safe to do so and it is what you would like to experience.
